Chandler Engineering Launches Model 4268-E Cement Expansion Cell – A Critical Instrument for Well Integrity

October 5,2023

Chandler Engineering is introducing the Model 4268-E Cement Expansion Cell, a groundbreaking solution for assessing cement composition's expansion properties under downhole conditions. Oil well cement expansion is a fundamental aspect of ensuring the integrity and sealing capabilities of oil and gas wells. Properly designed and controlled cement formulations are essential to provide isolation that prevents the unwanted migration of fluids within the wellbore. This isolation is crucial for well control, production optimization, and environmental protection.

The Model 4268-E, Cement Expansion Cell from Chandler Engineering, is specifically engineered for real-time assessment of cement expansion characteristics under downhole conditions. This instrument serves as an accessory for use alongside either the standard Model 4265 Ultrasonic Cement Analyzer (UCA) or the Model 5265 Static Gel Strength Analyzer (SGSA). It features a pressure transducer positioned radially, enabling the measurement of cement expansion at downhole pressures and temperatures. Additionally, it seamlessly integrates with Chandler Engineering's Data Acquisition and Control Software and is CE and Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) compliant.

“The Model 4268-E is a testament to Chandler Engineering’s decades-long expertise in designing and manufacturing instrumentation for oil well cementing,” said Rob Wooten, Business Development Manager at Chandler Engineering. “We are proud to provide our customers with unmatched reliability with our portfolio of high performing products.”
